Bologna claimed their first major trophy since 1974 by defeating AC Milan 1-0 in the Coppa Italia final, thanks to a decisive second-half goal from Switzerland’s Dan Ndoye.
The win, secured at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico, guarantees Bologna a Europa League spot and marks manager Vincenzo Italiano’s first major honour after previous final defeats with Fiorentina.
Milan, who haven’t won the competition since 2003, were denied by Bologna goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski’s key saves. The loss increases pressure on Milan boss Sergio Conceicao, with his team currently languishing in eighth in Serie A.
