Breakers to retire Abercrombie’s No.10 jersey in honour of club legend

New Zealand Breakers great Tom Abercrombie will have his legacy cemented with the retirement of his number 10 jersey, recognising a 16-season career that included four championships and 429 appearances for the club.

The honour, announced at training by President of Basketball Operations Dillon Boucher, places Abercrombie alongside Paul Henare, CJ Bruton and Boucher as just the fourth Breakers player to have his number raised to the rafters at Spark Arena.

A Grand Final MVP in 2011 and an All-NBL First Team selection in 2012, Abercrombie said the jersey retirement was the highest honour in basketball and a moment to share with his family and fans who supported him throughout his career.
