Brisbane have ended their NRL season on a positive note, defeating the Bulldogs 20-34 at Accor Stadium to open Round 27.
With the scores tied 10-10 at halftime, veteran playmaker Ben Hunt sparked a dominant second-half spell as the Broncos crossed for four tries in just 11 minutes to take control of the contest.
Josiah Karapani starred with two tries, 165 running metres and 13 tackle breaks, while Pat Carrigan produced a tireless performance with 131 metres and 51 tackles.
The victory also provided a winning farewell for Payne Haas in his final appearance for Brisbane. Despite spending 10 minutes in the sin bin, Haas scored a try, ran for 152 metres and made 40 tackles as the Broncos secured their eighth victory of the season and brought a disappointing premiership defence to a winning conclusion.
