Chiefs capitalise on Drua errors to seal bonus-point win

The Chiefs moved back into second place with a 42–22 bonus-point victory over the Fijian Drua, punishing a series of costly goal-line mistakes to take control of the match.

The Drua struck early through Mesake Doge, but the Chiefs responded quickly with tries to Brodie McAlister and Quinn Tupaea to seize momentum.

A critical error from Drua fullback Iliasia Droasese inside his own in-goal opened the floodgates, leading to a try for Jared Proffit and sparking a scoring surge that stretched the lead beyond reach.

Despite late efforts from Kavaia Tagivetaua and Simione Kuruvoli to keep the Drua in contention, the Chiefs sealed the result through Tepaea Cook-Savage, securing a crucial win that lifts them level on points with the Hurricanes at the top of the ladder.
