In nine days the 2025 edition of the Groupama Race will set sail from Nouméa, New Caledonia, offering 24 competing boats a spectacular 654-nautical-mile offshore challenge around the island’s Grande Terre.
The race begins at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 15 (Nouméa time), from Baie de Sainte-Marie and will take crews clockwise around one of the world’s largest enclosed lagoons, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Now in its 17th year, the Groupama Race has grown into a premier international sailing event in the South Pacific, attracting crews from New Caledonia, France, New Zealand, and Australia.
Participants will navigate non-stop past iconic locations including Amédée Lighthouse, Cape N’dua, and the remote Belep Islands. For sailing fans unable to join on water, a virtual regatta is also available online to experience the race from anywhere.
