Crusaders keep home finals dream alive with Hurricanes rout

The Crusaders strengthened their push for a home Super Rugby qualifying final with a dominant 47-14 victory over the Hurricanes in Christchurch, extending their unbeaten record at One NZ Stadium.

Celebrating his 100th appearance, Sevu Reece starred with two tries to further cement his status as the club’s leading try-scorer, while David Havili played a key role in several attacking movements as the hosts built a commanding first-half lead.

With the Hurricanes resting many frontline players after securing top spot, the Crusaders took full advantage to climb into the top three, although injuries to key players including Fletcher Newell, Ethan Blackadder and Rivez Reihana cast a shadow over an otherwise emphatic win.
