Crusaders stumble as Reds end drought in costly Brisbane defeat

The Queensland Reds have broken a 15-year winless streak against the Crusaders in Brisbane with a hard-fought 31-26 victory, boosting their Super Rugby Pacific finals push, though the result was tempered by a concerning knee injury to playmaker Carter Gordon.

After rebounding from a heavy loss the previous round, the Reds controlled much of the contest but were repeatedly challenged by the defending champions, who stayed within reach throughout.

Key contributions, including a standout performance from Filipo Daugunu in his 100th match and a decisive late effort from Louis Werchon, ultimately secured the win, while the Crusaders now face mounting pressure in their own finals bid despite a late try earning them a bonus point.
