English cricket faces fresh turmoil after reports that a prominent figure in his forties is under Metropolitan Police investigation for allegedly spiking two women and sexually assaulting one during an incident in Fulham on May 22.
The man, who has not been arrested, was interviewed under caution on June 5, with inquiries ongoing.
The English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed it is aware of the case but declined to comment.
The revelations add to a series of misconduct scandals in the English domestic game, including recent bans for county coaches over inappropriate sexual behaviour. Regulators have pledged to prioritise eliminating sexual misconduct to protect the sport’s integrity.
