Chris Eubank Jr remained defiant after being fined £375,000 for weighing just 0.05lb over the middleweight limit ahead of his grudge match against Conor Benn.
Despite the costly penalty, Eubank insisted the weight issue would not affect the outcome, blaming promoter Eddie Hearn and Benn’s camp for exploiting technicalities.
The fine adds to over £500,000 in penalties Eubank has accumulated before even stepping into the ring.
Meanwhile, Benn, who weighed in lighter, seized the psychological advantage ahead of their highly anticipated bout, echoing the historic rivalry between their fathers from the 1990s.
