Team Europe retained the Ryder Cup with a 15-13 victory at Bethpage Black, overcoming a spirited American comeback on the final day.
The US, trailing 12-5 at the start of Sunday, mounted a charge through early wins from Cameron Young, Justin Thomas, and Xander Schauffele, raising hopes of a historic turnaround.
But Europe’s resilience shone through, with Shane Lowry sinking a clutch putt on the 18th to secure the vital half-point before Tyrrell Hatton sealed the result, sparking jubilant celebrations for captain Luke Donald’s team.

Well done Europe considering they had to contend with the most hostile New York crowds the Ryder Cup event has ever witnessed.
