Formula One driver Gabriel Bortoleto narrowly avoided missing the Canadian Grand Prix after his car was burgled in Zurich, Switzerland, just days before the race.
Thieves stole a backpack containing multiple passports, his computer, and all his racing gear while he dined near the Sauber team’s headquarters. The 20-year-old Brazilian had to quickly secure alternative travel documents and use a second passport to reach Montreal, more than 4,000 miles away, just in time for the weekend event. The incident caused major disruption to his race preparations.
