Force finals hopes fade after Chiefs hold firm in Perth

The Western Force’s finals hopes are hanging by a thread after a 14-24 loss to the Chiefs in Perth, leaving them second-last with just one win from six games.

The Force levelled the match at 14-14 early in the second half after tries to Max Burey and Jeremy Williams, but were unable to maintain momentum as the Chiefs responded through Samisoni Taukei’aho and a late Damian McKenzie penalty.

Despite a strong defensive effort and a spirited fightback, the Force failed to secure any bonus points, further denting their playoff chances.

The Chiefs, now 4-2 and sitting fifth, proved too composed, even holding out while reduced to 14 men, highlighting their class in key moments.
