Former All Blacks coach Sir Graham Henry has been added to Dave Rennie’s All Blacks coaching group as a selector.
Henry, who guided New Zealand to victory at the 2011 Rugby World Cup, won 88 of his 103 tests in charge of the national side between 2004 and 2011.
Rennie said he was thrilled to bring the veteran coach, widely known as “Ted”, into the set-up after previously seeking his advice before taking on the All Blacks role.
He said Henry had shared valuable insights about leadership, the team culture and lessons from his own time coaching New Zealand, including the influence former selector Sir Brian Lochore had on him.
Rennie said Henry remains deeply passionate about the All Blacks, closely follows the game and brings strong views on players and selection, adding that his outside perspective had already proved valuable.
