Injury-hit Sharks edge Storm in gritty win

The Cronulla Sharks showcased remarkable resilience to edge the Melbourne Storm 31-26 in a fiery NRL clash on Saturday night, despite losing key players Jesse Ramien and Sam Stonestreet to first-half injuries.

Back at Sharks Stadium for the first time since Round 4, Cronulla reshuffled their backline with Siosifa Talakai starring in his return from concussion, setting up two tries including a decisive double for fill-in winger Daniel Atkinson.

Ronaldo Mulitalo, Addin Fonua-Blake, and KL Iro also crossed the line, while a late rally by the Storm – highlighted by a Xavier Coates hat-trick – was ultimately repelled by the determined Sharks, who now sit provisionally in fourth place.
