Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua scored a victory in Miami, stopping Jake Paul with a right cross in the sixth round of their heavily promoted bout.
The contest was largely one-sided, but Paul showed staying-power, surviving multiple counts and landing occasional offence despite conceding size and experience.
Joshua’s win marked his first appearance since last year’s loss to Daniel Dubois and positions him for a possible return to heavyweight contention, with potential future bouts including a title pathway involving Oleksandr Usyk, a long-discussed clash with Tyson Fury, or a rematch with Joseph Parker.
While Paul was ultimately outclassed, his durability against a former champion earned some respect and his event continued to spotlight women’s boxing, with Alycia Baumgardner retaining her super-featherweight title in the co-main event. The undercard also featured a second-round knockout win by Anderson Silva over Tyron Woodley.
