New Zealand driver Liam Lawson produced an impressive recovery drive to finish seventh at the Canadian Grand Prix after starting outside the top 10 following a difficult qualifying session.
Lawson gained positions early and held firm under pressure late in the race, including a tense battle with Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, before surviving a post-race yellow flag investigation to retain the result and move to 10th in the Formula One drivers’ standings with 16 points.
Up front, Mercedes teenager Kimi Antonelli claimed his fourth straight victory after team-mate George Russell retired with a power unit failure, while Lewis Hamilton finished second and Max Verstappen secured his first podium of the season in third.
