Starting from the pit lane for the second consecutive race, Lawson struggled with tyre management and relied on strategic overtaking opportunities as other cars pitted.
Despite his challenges, he completed both the sprint and Grand Prix races without major incidents and gained valuable experience in his first outing at Shanghai.
McLaren’s Oscar Piastri secured his first win, leading a one-two finish with teammate Lando Norris, while George Russell took third.
Lawson acknowledged his struggles with the RB21 and vowed to improve ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix.
