Charles Leclerc claimed Ferrari’s milestone 250th Formula One victory with a dramatic British Grand Prix win at Silverstone after a late safety car period denied a final-lap showdown.
Max Verstappen crashed out in the closing stages, while championship leader Kimi Antonelli suffered mechanical problems after starting from pole, finishing 16th and seeing his title advantage reduced to 25 points. George Russell inherited second for Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton recovered from a time penalty to finish third for Ferrari.
New Zealand’s Liam Lawson delivered another strong drive, charging from 10th on the grid to finish sixth, matching his best result of the season and moving to 39 championship points. Racing Bulls also strengthened their constructors’ campaign, with Lawson and teammate Arvid Lindblad finishing sixth and seventh to leave the team just one point behind Alpine.
