Liverpool overturned a halftime deficit to secure a 1-2 victory over nine-man Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium, ending the hosts’ unbeaten run in a match transformed by two dismissals.
Brentford appeared firmly in command after Keane Lewis-Potter’s impressive header gave them the lead in the 44th minute, but their advantage unravelled when Yehor Yarmoliuk was sent off moments before the interval for an alleged headbutt on Jeremy Jacquet.
Liverpool capitalised after the restart, with Victor Munoz producing a composed left-footed equaliser in the 62nd minute following Florian Wirtz’s incisive pass. Alexander Isak completed the turnaround eight minutes later, converting after Bradley Barcola nodded down Alexis Mac Allister’s delivery to register his fifth goal of the campaign.
Brentford’s frustrations deepened in stoppage time when Vitaly Janelt received a second yellow card for fouling substitute Rio Ngumoha, leaving the home side with just nine players.
