Man Utd fans stage largest protest against club ownership in years

Thousands of Manchester United fans staged a massive protest against the club’s ownership before Sunday’s match against Arsenal, marking the biggest demonstration since Sir Jim Ratcliffe acquired a 28.94% stake last year.

The near mile-long march to Old Trafford was filled with flares, banners, and chants against co-chairman Joel Glazer and Ratcliffe, who now has significant control over the club’s operations.

Fans were angry over rising ticket prices, ongoing job cuts, and the club’s £1bn debt, largely attributed to the Glazer family’s leveraged buyout in 2005.

Protesters accused Ratcliffe of shielding the Glazers rather than pushing them out, despite his claims that financial cuts are necessary to stabilise losses.
