Netball New Zealand has secured a new broadcast deal with TVNZ for the 2026 ANZ Premiership, moving all matches to free-to-air television.

This ends a long-standing partnership with Sky Sport, which began in 2008.

While financial details of the deal are undisclosed, it may result in player pay cuts due to lower broadcast revenue.

Netball NZ hopes the wider audience reach will boost sponsorship opportunities. The 2026 season will feature 30 round-robin matches and two finals over 12 weeks, airing on TVNZ 2 and TVNZ+.

Rule innovations like the two-point shot and captain’s timeout will return.
