NZ First leader Winston Peters has suggested there may still be hope for Moana Pasifika despite the franchise’s holding company entering liquidation, hinting to reporters that “good news” would emerge in due course but refusing to elaborate.
Speaking at Parliament, Peters dismissed suggestions of direct government involvement while indicating discussions were taking place behind the scenes.
New Zealand Rugby has confirmed there remain interested parties looking at the club’s future, with Peters saying the side still has strong long-term potential despite recent financial troubles and management challenges.
