Sabalenka wins women’s Australian Open title

Belorusian star Aryna Sabalenka delivered a powerful performance to win her second Grand Slam title, successfully defending her Australian Open title.

She beat Chinese 12th seed Zheng Qinwen with a commanding 6-3, 6-2 victory in just 76 minutes. The win makes Sabalenka the first woman in 11 years to retain the Australian Open title, a feat last accomplished by Victoria Azarenka in 2012-13.

Sabalenka showcased exceptional power in her game, overwhelming her opponent with her strength.

Sabalenka joins an elite group of players to win the tournament without dropping a set – a group which includes Ash Barty, Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, and Lindsay Davenport.
