New Zealand chased down 248 in the final over to beat the West Indies by five wickets in another tense finish, securing an unassailable 2–0 series lead in Napier.
Shai Hope’s brilliant unbeaten 109 had lifted the visitors from 130 for 6 to 247 for 9 in a rain-shortened 34-over match, but despite reducing New Zealand to 194 for 5, they couldn’t close it out.
Devon Conway (90) and Rachin Ravindra (56) set the platform with a 106-run opening stand before Mitchell Santner smashed a match-winning late onslaught, hammering 18 off Matthew Forde and dominating the death overs alongside Tom Latham.
A costly no-ball from Jayden Seales opened the door, and Santner finished the chase with three balls to spare after a seesaw contest marked by sharp West Indies bowling and persistent Kiwi counterpunching.
