A 14-strong Silver Ferns squad has been named to take on Australia in the Constellation Cup, with Amelia Walmsley the sole addition after impressing at the Netball World Youth Cup.
She replaces Filda Vui from the Taini Jamison series, while Kate Burley, Tayla Earle, and Saviour Tui miss selection but could feature in next month’s UK tour. The squad announcement comes as interim coach Yvette McCausland-Durie continues to lead the team following Dame Noeline Taurua’s suspension for the remainder of the season. McCausland-Durie praised the squad’s balance of experience and youth, saying it was capable of pushing the Diamonds in the four-Test series.
The Silver Ferns, who reclaimed the Cup last year, will hold a training camp this week before the opener in Melbourne on 17 October.
