Jannik Sinner successfully defended his Wimbledon men’s singles title with a hard-fought 6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (7-2), 6-3, 6-4 victory over Alexander Zverev in a gripping three-hour, 46-minute final at the All England Club.
After a closely contested opening two sets, the world No. 1 gradually asserted control to claim his first Grand Slam title of 2026 and the fifth major championship of his career. Zverev, fresh from his French Open triumph, pushed Sinner throughout but was unable to end the Italian’s dominance, with Sinner extending his winning streak over the German to 10 matches.
The victory also made Sinner just the 10th man in the Open era to successfully defend the Wimbledon men’s singles title, while Zverev praised his rival afterwards, saying he had once again proved why he is the world’s best player.
