South Africa crushed India by 408 runs in Guwahati, sealing a 2-0 series sweep and inflicting India’s heaviest-ever Test defeat by runs.
The Proteas declared on 260-5 to set India a daunting 549-run target, before bowling them out for just 140 on the final day, with only Ravindra Jadeja offering resistance with 54.
Spinner Simon Harmer claimed six wickets and Aiden Markram took a record nine catches as South Africa secured just their second Test series win in India and their first since 2000.
