Australian opener David Warner expressed his relief and happiness after being reunited with his ‘baggy green’ cap, which had been stolen from his luggage during his travels to Sydney for his final Test match.
Warner, aged 37, is set to retire from Test cricket after the match against Pakistan.
He emphasized the significance of the cap to cricketers and stated that he would cherish it for the rest of his life.
The ‘baggy green’ is a revered symbol given to Australian players on their Test debut.
In a video, Warner thanked those involved in locating his cap, including the Qantas team, freight company, hotel, and team management.
He had initially pleaded for its return on social media, offering a spare backpack. Warner was dismissed for 34 on day two of the match, and Australia will resume their innings on day three at 116-2 in response to Pakistan’s 313.
