The Warriors have made NRL history by selling out all their home games this season, becoming the first club to achieve this feat.

The club announced on Monday that every one of their 10 games at Go Media Mt Smart Stadium, as well as their home game against Canberra in Christchurch, has been sold out.

With an average crowd of 23,684, the Warriors boast the third highest attendance in the league, following the Broncos and Roosters who have larger home venues. This achievement is also believed to be a first for any New Zealand sporting franchise.

Warriors chief executive Cameron George said he was immensely proud of the fans’ unwavering support, attributing the success to the dedication of the members and supporters.

Coach Andrew Webster also praised the fans for their deep understanding and passion for the game, exemplified by the enthusiastic backing of kicker Chanel Harris-Tavita in their recent win over the Tigers. Despite the sold-out success, the Warriors face a tough challenge to secure a playoff spot, needing consistent wins in the remaining rounds.

  1. I guess it is a great achievement for the team’s bean counters to have a ‘grand slam’ of sold out home games.

But isn’t the real metric to win games? They have done that so few times this season that they will soon be out of the competition.
