Warriors rally late to claim gritty 14-6 victory over Roosters

A battle of two last-start winners kicked off Friday night footy with the Warriors and Roosters riding high after impressive Round 2 performances.

The Warriors, buoyed by their passionate Go Media Stadium faithful, made it back-to-back home wins with a determined 14-6 triumph in front of 23,219 fans.

After trailing 6-4 with just 15 minutes remaining, the Warriors rallied to secure the victory, driven by a standout performance from fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad. He powered through 30 runs for an astounding 314 metres, contributing two try assists and breaking seven tackles. Props James Fisher-Harris and Mitch Barnett were instrumental in the forward battle, combining for 29 runs and 287 metres.

The Warriors’ relentless attack ultimately proved too much for the Roosters to contain, securing another memorable night at Go Media Stadium.
