The New Zealand Warriors are set to take their 2027 NRL Anzac Round clash to Eden Park for the first time, with the move putting New Zealand rugby league’s all-time attendance record in sight.
The national stadium’s 50,000-seat capacity could surpass the current local rugby league record crowd of 47,363 set during the 1988 Rugby League World Cup final, while also eclipsing the Warriors’ own best home attendance of 38,412 from 2011.
Warriors chief executive Cameron George said hosting the Anzac Day fixture at New Zealand’s largest sporting venue would make the occasion even more significant, while Eden Park CEO Nick Sautner and Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown said the event would deliver a major boost for Auckland and rugby league fans across New Zealand and Australia.
The opponent and ticket details will be confirmed when the 2027 NRL draw is released later this year.
