Three-year-old Janaa Al Easawi from Western Sydney tragically drowned while on holiday with her family in Seminyak, Bali.
Despite her father’s immediate response and CPR efforts from a fellow Australian, the child could not be revived after being pulled unconscious from the villa’s swimming pool.
The family, who believed the pool area was secured, has urged other parents to remain vigilant around pools, particularly in countries like Indonesia, where pool safety laws are less stringent compared to places like Australia and New Zealand.
The incident is the second drowning of an Australian child in Bali in three months.
The family thought that the pool area had been ‘secured’ and that the laws of physics, gravity and common sense had been somehow magically bypassed.
Tragic for the poor child.
Hole in one mate. Once again parents trying to blame others for their complete inpetitude as parents.
Poor little kid. Sorry for her parents, too. So please everyone keep a close eye on your little ones when on holiday. What may apply back home, is not true everywhere.
Keeping an eye on little ones is what parents are suppsoed to do – instinctively. These parents appear to have dropped the ball here and now want to blame others for their failure.
I indeed do feel for the little child, she desefred so much better.
