400K sign repeal petition against U.K.’s new ‘Online Safety Rules’

UK online safety rules news

Nearly 400,000 people have signed a petition to repeal the UK’s newly enforced Online Safety Act, accusing it of censorship and overreach.

Critics, including Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, claim the rules suppress free speech and restrict access to legal content, while the government defends the regulations as “vital for protecting children online”.

Technology Secretary Peter Kyle’s comments sparked controversy after he likened Farage’s opposition to “supporting predators”, drawing outrage.

Despite growing use of VPNs to bypass restrictions, officials insist platforms must block such workarounds. Advocates argue the law could hurt civil liberties without effectively safeguarding children.

  1. Bureaucrat: Knock knock, “I’m here from the government and I’ve come to censor what you can see and read on the internet so I can protect your children.”
Me: “F*** off you c***. I will protect my children, you just stick to building roads.”

  2. Oh so they are suddenly worried about predators. Tell that to the victims of the grooming gangs the UK governments turned a blind eye to, for years. No this is essentially a “Digital ID”, the same thing that’s in its infancy in Australia but coming up fast in new legislation, again couched in terms of “safety”.

Lets be honest, its really bare faced Fascism, just like these so called “hate speech” laws, which again, we are seeing in both the UK and Australia. In Melbourne Victoria, for example, you can’t even say what you like inside your own home without risking arrest, under new state laws. Whats next Orwellian view screen’s that monitor you, dressed up as, “smart devices”?

Oh and if you think the treacherous slugs here in NZ are not on board, take a look at newly proposed terrorism laws, designed to shut people with principles up. Any fool voting mainstream is condemning themselves and their countrymen and women, to a dystopian future. Stop lying to yourself and vote for something new and “hopefully” better.

  3. Their women/girls are being rped in unprecedented numbers, crickets.
They don’t give a crud about their own people, let alone children’s safety!
