A Brisbane shopper’s online complaint about dogs in Bunnings stores has reignited national debate in Australia over the retailer’s pet-friendly policy.
While some customers say dogs belong at home and cite incidents of mess, bites, and safety risks, others argue responsible owners should be allowed to bring well-behaved pets, especially when running errands.
Bunnings maintains that dogs are welcome if kept on a lead and under control, saying most customers support the rule despite occasional controversy — including a fatal dog attack inside a Brisbane store in 2021.

There really are some miserable, petty, uptight wankers, in this world…….
I can’t walk around Bunnings Lyall Bay with my scooter as it’s a health hazard so a manger told me however I have watched a dog crap inside the same place.
Yeah, sure you did, did you bring to pooh with you, Muhumad?
Dogs historically do not take kindly to all our (shall we say) “New” citizens. Hence the reason for this campaign.
It’s just the facts, don’t shoot the messenger.
