Brigitte Macron is facing widespread criticism after being recorded using a derogatory term to describe feminist activists protesting at a comedy show she attended in Paris.
Speaking with comedian Ary Abittan, who had previously faced a rape accusation that was later dismissed, Macron responded to his concerns about protesters by saying, “If there are any stupid bitches, we’ll kick them out,” before laughing and urging him not to mention “the problem” on stage.
Activists from the feminist collective NousToutes had disrupted Abittan’s show the previous night, many wearing masks depicting his face.
Her remarks sparked immediate backlash, with high-profile feminists and celebrities reclaiming the insult on social media. Actress Marion Cotillard posted the message “I’m a stupid bitch” and said she was proud to stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence. Government spokesperson Maud Bregeon defended Abittan’s right to perform, criticised protesters for disregarding court decisions, and insisted Macron did not need to apologise.

However, Green Party leader Marine Tondelier said the first lady’s words were “extremely serious” and argued that feminists had every right to voice their concerns. Former president Francois Hollande also said Macron’s language was poorly chosen and inappropriate when discussing women campaigning against gender-based violence.
The disguised ape called ” brigitte” expressed ” herself” as a guy talking about women.
No real woman would use this kind of vocabulary speaking of women.
