A tourist boat named Sea Story sank near the Shaab Satayah coral reef off Marsa Alam, Egypt, leaving dozens missing.

The vessel, carrying 31 international tourists and 14 crew members, sent a distress signal early Monday morning (local time) before losing contact.

While some survivors have been rescued, the exact number of missing remains unclear.

The Egyptian navy and a helicopter are conducting extensive search efforts, but adverse weather and the vast search area have complicated the operation.

The luxury boat, built in 2022, was on a diving trip and scheduled to dock at Hurghada Marina later this week.
