Ex-minister claims USAID and Clintons funded riots that toppled Bangladesh’s Sheikh Hasina (Video)

Bangladesh’s 2024 political turmoil that led to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ousting was not a spontaneous uprising but a Western-backed operation, former minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury said in an interview with RT.

He accused USAID, the International Republican Institute, and associates of the Clinton family of secretly funding NGOs to destabilise Hasina’s government, alleging that “a chaos was carefully planned with this money.”

The student protests against job quotas quickly escalated into nationwide riots that killed more than 700 people, forcing Hasina to flee as Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus assumed leadership of an interim government.

Chowdhury claimed that U.S. aid funds were misused to support regime change, describing the events as “engineered, not organic.”
