Four arrested in Sydney over alleged ‘international satanic child abuse network’

Australian police have charged four Sydney men after uncovering what they describe as an international child abuse ring trading in material with “satanic or ritualistic themes.”

The arrests followed raids across the city last week, where officers from Strike Force Constantine seized thousands of videos depicting the abuse of children aged 12 and under, including infants.

Police say the group shared the material through an internationally administered website and allege the 26-year-old suspect played a leading role.

The men, aged 26, 39, 42 and 46, face more than 20 charges including possessing and distributing child abuse material, bestiality offences, drug possession and breaching reporting requirements.

Police have not yet identified the victims or determined where the material was created but are working with overseas agencies. All four suspects were denied bail and are due to reappear in court in late January.
