Four people were killed and at least 20 injured when gunfire erupted at Willie’s Bar and Grill on St Helena Island, South Carolina, early Sunday morning.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said hundreds were gathered at the Gullah-inspired venue when the shooting broke out, prompting victims and witnesses to flee to nearby businesses for safety.
Four of the wounded remain in critical condition, and authorities are investigating possible suspects and motives. Representative Nancy Mace expressed heartbreak over the “devastating” violence, offering condolences to the victims and their families.
