French investigators have uncovered additional people suspected of recruiting victims for convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as prosecutors widen their inquiries into his activities in France and abroad.
Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau said authorities had obtained the names of further “potential recruiters” but declined to identify them, describing Epstein’s network as extraordinarily complex.
Two investigations launched in February following the release of millions of Epstein-related documents in the United States are examining alleged human trafficking and recruitment as well as possible money laundering and tax offences. Investigators have now identified 26 alleged victims, including 13 who had not previously surfaced in Epstein-related proceedings, with eight people still awaiting interviews.
The inquiries stretch from New York to locations on the French Riviera, including Cannes and Saint-Tropez, where Epstein spent considerable time, as well as Paris, where he owned an apartment on Avenue Foch. An earlier French investigation focused heavily on modelling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who was accused of recruiting young women and girls and died by suicide in prison in 2022 while facing charges including the rape of minors.
Investigators subsequently examined modelling scout Daniel Siad following allegations that he exploited aspiring models or introduced them to influential men; Siad was found dead near Paris in July, with prosecutors reporting no evidence of recent violence connected to his death.
