Journalist wins case against Australian state broadcaster over Gaza post sacking

Australian journalist Antoinette Lattouf has won her legal case against the ABC, with a court ruling she was unfairly dismissed after posting Human Rights Watch claims accusing Israel of war crimes during the Gaza conflict.

Justice Darryl Rangiah found the ABC terminated her role due to her political views, not her race, following pressure from pro-Israel groups.

Lattouf, of Lebanese heritage, was awarded AUD $70,000 in damages, with further penalties under consideration. Her sacking sparked backlash, raising concerns about editorial independence and support for “diverse staff” at the state broadcaster.

  1. “Give us 20 years and we’ll take over your media and destroy your country”. Quote allegedly made by an Israeli working at the Mossad controlled company ‘Urban Moving Systems’ in New York. The same company that employed the ‘dancing Israelis’ arrested on 9/11.
