Mass resignation rocks UK Labour as Council leader accuses Starmer of ‘betrayal’

Broxtowe Borough news
Keir Starmer (L), Milan Radulovic (R).

Milan Radulovic, a long-serving Labour council leader, has led a mass resignation of 20 Broxtowe Borough councillors, citing a lack of support from party leadership throughout his 22-year tenure.

Radulovic, who has been a Labour councillor for nearly 40 years, accused Keir Starmer of abandoning the working class in favour of the “Westminster elite.”

The councillors, now forming the Broxtowe Independents group, criticized national Labour policies, including the means-testing of winter fuel allowances and the lack of compensation for WASPI women. They also opposed Labour’s plans to consolidate local councils into larger unitary authorities, expressing concern over the burden of taxation on the poorest.

The resignations leave Labour without control of the council, with the Broxtowe Independents now running a minority administration requiring opposition support.

Radulovic lambasted Labour’s “top-down approach”, calling for direct engagement rather than “diktats” and suspensions.

The move reflects deeper frustrations within UK Labour’s grassroots, as the group claims around 100 local members have also quit the party.

Meanwhile, the six remaining Labour councillors expressed disappointment, stating that those who defected had been elected on a Labour ticket.

The Broxtowe Independents and an existing independent group have registered as political parties, with decisions on their status expected by the end of January.

  1. In the UK, serious crimes such as rape require the Crown Prosecution Service’s approval for the police to charge suspects.

Who was the head of the CPS when rape gangs were allowed to exploit young girls without facing justice?

    Keir Starmer, 2008 -2013

      • “Britain’s new premier has a deep, long-running relationship with London’s national security establishment and security and intelligence apparatus, as well as the elite Trilateral Commission. He helmed the CPS when the Service protected MI5 and MI6 spooks from prosecution for torture, and connived to sustain a bogus rape case against Julian Assange”.

The City of London is also referred to as ‘The Crown’. This is not to be confused with the king or the royal family, but they are among its shareholders. Crown lands throughout the commonwealth belong to ‘The Crown’ and not the governments.
‘The Crown’ operates world- wide and is said to be associated with the following groups; Committee of 300, Bilderberg Group, Trilateral Commission, Royal Institute of International Affairs, its American Branch, Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), and Club of Rome.
