A Voepass twin-engine turboprop plane crashed in a residential area of Vinhedo, São Paulo state, Brazil, on Friday afternoon, killing all 62 people on board.
The aircraft, en route to São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport, was captured spiraling out of control before it crashed.
Despite the fiery wreckage, no one on the ground was injured.
The plane, an ATR72-500, lost contact about an hour and a half after takeoff from Cascavel. Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva called for a moment of silence to honour the victims, while the cause of the crash remains unknown.
