Tradie gunned down in mistaken identity shooting farewelled

John Versace news

John Versace, a 23-year-old plumber with no criminal ties, was shot dead outside his family’s Condell Park home in south west Sydney on Monday night, in a suspected case of mistaken identity linked to Sydney’s gang violence.

Remembered as a loving, cheeky, and passionate man, Versace was farewelled in a traditional Maronite ceremony attended by family and friends today.

Police say he was fired at ten times by a hooded gunman and are treating the killing as a targeted execution.

A dedicated taskforce has been established to investigate the brutal killing, with police appealing for information from the public.

Speaking to media after the incident, police Superintendent Rodney Hart said, “We believe that this has the hallmarks of a targeted execution – very brutal, very distressing.”

“So, I want to reassure the community that we are treating this not as a random attack, but what I will ask from our community here is – please, anybody that has any information to assist the investigators to please call Bankstown Police Station or Crime Stoppers.”

  1. Australia has got a history of gangland criminality and slayings
Once You peer through the thin veneer
It is not such an attractive proposition as a country of choice
Highlighted by the criminal actions perpetrated against the population during covid

    • There’s a mini series from 1995 called “Blue Murder”. It highlights the corruption and crime in NSW. Was actually banned, I believe, by the state govt at the time. Its an excellent watch. Little has changed, I suspect.

  2. Australia the shit hole that just keeps on giving. A miserable, divisive place, where violence and criminality are allowed to prosper. Very much a case of getting what you vote for and given they have voted for another three years of globalism, its only going to get worse.

I see too, they are planning to change tax laws, to chase people for tax even after they have left the place. Which is telling, in and of, itself.

In any case RIP this poor man. He deserved better than the dystopian crap hole, Australia has become.
