U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna has launched a fierce attack on European Union politicians, accusing them of displaying “sociopathic” behaviour by opposing peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
In a post on X, the Florida Republican said EU officials were “comfortable sending youth from both nations to die if it serves their own self-interests,” adding that their actions amounted to advocating for the “erasure of entire bloodlines of Russian and Ukrainian families.”
Her comments came after Estonian MP Marko Mihkelson criticised Luna for meeting Russian presidential aide Kirill Dmitriev during his visit to the United States last week. Mihkelson accused her of falling under a “dictatorial mindset,” questioning her motives.
Luna responded that her stance reflected American opposition to being drawn into foreign wars, saying, “Just because I’m not a war-shill doesn’t mean I’m wrong.” She accused NATO and the EU of failing to contribute their fair share while expecting the US to “bankroll endless foreign wars.”
Dmitriev later said the congresswoman had long supported “peaceful solutions and economic cooperation between nations,” describing their meeting as constructive despite the backlash.
