A viral video featuring a gay couple’s surrogacy journey has sparked widespread concern after it was revealed that one of the men, Brandon Mitchell, is a convicted child sex offender.
The video, originally shared to celebrate the birth of their son, gained traction after being reposted by activist Derek Blighe, according to a report on news website Reddux.
While initially dismissed by some as homophobic commentary, further investigation confirmed Mitchell’s 2016 conviction for soliciting and possessing explicit material involving a minor.
Despite laws barring sex offenders from adopting, surrogacy laws in Pennsylvania allowed Mitchell and his husband, Logan Riley, to obtain legal parentage through a “pre-birth order”.
Advocacy groups are calling for an urgent investigation and stronger safeguards, warning this case may be part of a broader systemic failure in surrogacy oversight.

A queer “couple” of men were walking with ‘their?’ infant in shoulder harness last summer in Tasman National Park. It looked and felt awkward and unnatural. It was quite obvious the negative energy other people had toward them as the passed. It was all wrong.
