U.S. Republican Senator John Kennedy has declared South Africa “our enemy” during a Senate Appropriations subcommittee hearing.
Kennedy pressed US Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer on whether Pretoria should remain part of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), Washington’s principal trade programme with the continent.
Kennedy argued that South Africa is aligned with America’s adversaries and should no longer benefit from AGOA, while Greer acknowledged that Pretoria presents “a unique problem” due to persistent tariff and non-tariff barriers.
Greer noted that South Africa already faces a 30 percent reciprocal tariff – significantly higher than the rates applied to most other sub-Saharan African nations – and signalled openness to treating Pretoria separately if Congress chooses to reform the programme.
The exchange comes amid growing political pressure in Washington to reassess South Africa’s trade privileges following deteriorating diplomatic relations and stalled negotiations.
Pretoria has rejected the justification for the 30 percent tariff, arguing that the US is relying on a “contested interpretation” of trade data.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has said that more than half of all imports into South Africa enter duty-free, including 77 percent of goods imported from the United States, and insists that his government remains committed to improving bilateral trade ties.
You are either a vassal or an enemy, in the eyes of the US, there is no such thing as neutrality…..
It is interesting to note that South Africa along with India and Brazil were all former colonies of Britain and more than likely, either willingly or unwillingly are still being controlled by the British Imperialists. Then that begs the question, was BRICS a British psyop, an attempt to ‘tie down’ Russia and China with three former British Colonies. Is that why ARC (America, Russia, China) is being seen as working together to defeat the British Imperialist system.
Ah Brazil, British colony from when to when?
Read your history books before peddling you cow dung!
Ok, invaded then.

Of course it would be seen as the ” ennemy” by the US vulture
South Africa filed a complaint against Netanyaou and its criminal sionist gang at the International Criminal Court for genocide.
The US vulture who is complicit of genocide has also threatened ICC judges of ” sanctions.
This is the most likely scenario.
Kissinger once said that it’s better to be an enemy of the US than it’s friend. Who needs enemies when you have mates like the US?
