US ‘intel’ says COVID-19 wasn’t genetically engineered and isn’t a bioweapon

US calls for more transparency, while China insists the virus was deliberately released by US operatives

A joint report by several US intelligence agencies has concluded that COVID-19 wasn’t genetically engineered or developed by the Chinese as a bioweapon.

The report also states that China ‘probably did not know of the virus prior to the first outbreak in late 2019.

US intel report on COVID-19 news

COVID-19 ‘probably emerged and infected humans through an initial small-scale exposure that occurred no later than November 2019 with the first known cluster of COVID-19 cases arising in Wuhan, China in December 2019,’ the report said.

The conclusions however come with reservations. Some of the intelligence agencies can’t agree on the origins of the virus and how ‘patient zero’ became infected. Three of the agencies have called on China to make more information available, including free access to relevant sites and laboratories.
