Venezuela’s interim president Delcy Rodríguez has enacted a broad political amnesty law granting clemency to individuals imprisoned over political unrest spanning more than two decades, following the US detention of President Nicolás Maduro on narcotics and firearms charges he denies.
The law covers political events between 1999 and 2026, including protests and coup-related activity, and takes effect upon publication while excluding serious offences such as homicide, corruption and drug trafficking.
Rodríguez framed the move as an act of national reconciliation, even as her government has simultaneously moved closer to US demands through cooperation on security matters and reopening Venezuela’s oil sector to American companies.
”One must know how to ask for forgiveness and one must also know how to receive forgiveness,” Rodriguez said while presenting the document. The law will take effect upon publication in the official gazette.
Sounds like someone is selling out to the USA and its Israeli pet.
