Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky says Kyiv has reached “no agreement with the United States on any territorial concessions”, insisting Ukraine will not withdraw its forces from the remaining parts of Donbass under its control.
Speaking during a visit to London, where he met with UK, French, and German leaders, Zelensky said he would soon present fresh peace proposals to US President Donald Trump but stressed that Washington’s push for compromise has limits.
“The Americans are ready to discuss compromises, but when it comes to territory, there is no agreement,” Zelensky told reporters, adding that Russia’s demands for Ukrainian withdrawal were unacceptable.
He said Kiev had succeeded in removing “clearly anti-Ukrainian” provisions from earlier drafts of Trump’s peace plan, which reportedly called for Ukrainian pullbacks and de facto recognition of Russian control over Donbass and Crimea.
Trump has since suggested the draft was updated with new input from both sides, while expressing “disappointment” with Zelensky for allegedly not reviewing the latest proposal.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, meanwhile, said last week in India that Russian forces continue to advance and warned Moscow will “liberate all of Donbass by force” if Ukraine refuses to withdraw.
Meanwhile Russia is going to take it anyway, what a clown Zelensky is.
